Paladins are experts in distance fighting, and advance medium on melee skills. For a high distance skill you need to train a lot but you can handle large creatures quick when they dont have range damage (cyclops).
It's for a pally handy to have shielding but it's unusefull when you're hunting with a bow or crossbow.
